The Materiais Diversos Festival promotes the meeting of different audiences and imaginaries around the arts (dance, theatre, music and performance) with thought, questioning actuality and fostering cultural participation as a condition for citizenship. Born in Minde, in 2009, it spread to Alcanena and Cartaxo (in 2013) and became one of the most representative projects for programming outside the large centres in Portugal, attempting to think and act from the places it originates. It had been occurring annually until 2017 and became a biannual event starting with its 10th edition in 2019.

From the 3rd to the 12th of October 2025, the Festival Materiais Diversos will be in Alcanena and Minde with a program of dance, theater and music shows, installations and conversations.

SubLinhar

Marta Cerqueira

Professional dancer since 2001. She is dedicated to the research and conception of various artistic creation projects, principally in the area of the performative arts (dance and theatre) and also through installations, video and film. She began her training in classical and modern dance at 10 years old at the Escola de Dança do Conservatório Nacional de Lisboa, and at 18 finishes the course and receives her diploma as a professional dancer. She chooses contemporary dance as her professional path and continues her studies through several schools and dance studios in New York, Berlin and Lisbon, where she completed the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation Choreography Course. PGCCA. She was also a part of the multidisciplinary projects COLINA04(PT), Point to Pointe Program, 4th Asia- Europe Dance Forum/06(PL). Worked as a performer and in some cases as a co-creator with the following choreographers and directors: Anke Blonde, Bruno Pradet, Beatriz Cantinho, Clara Andermatt, Errol White, Giacomo Scalisi, John Mowat, Luís Guerra, Leonor Keil, Manon Oligny, Maria Ramos, Miguel Moreira, Paulo Ribeiro, Peter Michael Dietz, Sofia Neuparth, Tânia Carvalho among others. In film, she participated in films by: Jeanne Waltz, Manuel Guerra, Tiago Guedes and Frederico Serra.

In order to write the word SubLinhar one needs a point and to trace lines with one´s hand. In order to speak the word SubLinhar it is necessary for a series of sounds to leave one´s mouth. But there are those of few words… And what happens when we are left speechless? If we remove Linha (Line) from the word Sub(Linha)r we can use it to draw in space, insinuating forms, accentuating movements, defining directions or pathways which takes us to a new place, ask the world questions and grow. On those trajectories, the body “also speaks”, replete with bones, tendons, and muscles, it experiences the here and now.
