Since 2018, in partnership with five festivals and six associated partners, as well as with several artists scattered across Europe and beyond, Materiais Diversos has participated in the international cooperation project More Than This <\/a>, with a focus on contemporary performing arts and the Mediterranean space. More Than This proposes to rethink the value of complexity, challenging the crystallization of unique narratives and fixed identities and deepening the notions of displacement and hospitality.
\nIn 2020, the Short Theater and the Festival Materiais Diversos materialize one of the most innovative dimensions of the project – the \u201cdisplacement of festivals\u201d, which questions not only the mobility of artists, but of the cultural organizations themselves. Working in pairs, each festival involved in the project received or was hosted by one of its partners.
\nIn its 15th edition, the Short Theater hosts the Portuguese festival Materiais Diversos which – with all the variables resulting from the pandemic – programmes four artists: Tiago Cadete, Volmir Cordeiro, David Marques and Catarina Miranda<\/a>.<\/p>\n
