Projecto Espiões
Projecto Espiões addresses the relationship between the performative arts and the building and transmission of cultural memory, from the point of view of a personal universe. From the individual and collective memories of some of the artists in her life — the choreographer-performers Francisco Camacho, Miguel Pereira and Sílvia Real — Filipa Francisco identifies an uneven heritage in their memories, and draws a creative and affirmative gesture faced with a lack of archives and documentation on dance in the national Portuguese panorama.
As a follow-up to previous projects such as Íman, built on the individual memories of African and Hip Hop dance performers, and A Viagem, which explores traditional dance as a form of connection with the body, Projecto Espiões aims to validate a heritage which is incorporated through a confrontation between personal repertoires and imaginaries, and new choreographic gestures.
