RadioAtiva

with Nuno Preto

School workshops — Agrupamento de Escolas de Alcanena, 7th grade, October–December 2026

Radio is an object that few people still have at home. But radio is an act of resistance. Proof of this is the way it still manages to unsettle us today. There is always room for fiction when it reaches us through our ears. We imagine the face of the person speaking. We speak, sing and shout at the same time as the music or the person speaking… on the radio. We can always shout whatever we want, debate and discuss.

A school radio was once a place for discovering new music. It was where announcements were made about the winning student list, parties or school trips. A place for creating your own programmes. But above all, it was a place for fiction. It was a different room from the classroom. And it was ours.

These workshops have an incredible goal: to resist! To resist through the creation of a School Radio.
