As part of a long-standing programming partnership, Materiais Diversos and BONS SONS have developed an ongoing collaboration that brings together music and the performing arts through a shared programme shaped by dialogue and exchange.

At the 2026 edition of the BONS SONS festival, taking place from 6 to 9 August, in Cem Soldos, Materiais Diversos will present Conto Preto by Nala Revlon and Fazer Ideia by João Grilo and Inês Campos.

Conto Preto, by Nala Revlon

Conto Preto is a choreographic work that intertwines the spiritual traditions of Candomblé with the identity-affirming force of ballroom culture, creating a space for evocation, celebration, and resistance by Black and queer bodies. Drawing on sacred rhythms such as ijexá, atabaque, and agogô, sound, body, and memory become means of communicating with the orixás and with ancestry. In its encounter with ballroom, a contemporary rituality emerges, where each performance becomes a political act of affirmation. Performed by three artists from the Portuguese scene, Conto Preto celebrates identity and art as sacred space. — Nala

Nala Revlon is a Portuguese-Brazilian performer, choreographer, and producer. She has been developing her work within ballroom culture since 2017, with a particular focus on the Vogue Fem category. She is the Mother of the Iconic House of Revlon in Portugal, as well as a judge, teacher, and performer, and has established herself within the international ballroom scene. She is co-founder of Vogue PT Chapter and founder of Pump The Beat, a queer clubbing platform dedicated to community, artistic creation, and LGBTQIA+ visibility.

Fazer Ideia, by João Grilo & Inês Campos

A cycle of multidisciplinary site-specific performances designed to inhabit unconventional spaces. Through text, choreographed gestures, lip-sync, live music, and symbolic actions, it proposes a social choreography in which audience and performers, in dialogue with the place and its context, share time, listening, and presence. The work reflects on collective labour, common desires, and gentleness as a form of strength, often structured around diary-like texts written as letters, in a continuous gesture where body, sound, text, and action intertwine in a practice of transformation and shared imagination.

João Grilo & Inês Campos have been collaborating since 2017 on the creation of different artistic formats and objects situated between choreography, poetry, and music, conceived for both the stage and unconventional spaces. Insisting on a collective discourse for peace and on deliberate slowness as a form of resistance, they reflect on the nature of existence, emotions, and human relationships. They explore almost invisible places within sound, comment on the subliminal, turn their gaze to choreography in order to sing, and place the body within the score in order to move.
