ONYX is a oneiric army of vacuum and presence, the erasure of borders between political and social intervention and the creation of a dreamlike space, charged with silence, noise, nonlinear information, weight, and a fluctuation of time.

The construction of what it means “to be a man” and the pressure to conform to that ideal are revisited in an intimate way. Between an intimate encounter and the magic of the stage there is a lot, but what is the shortest distance between these two realms? Pai para Jantar is a game with the audience that seeks to unpack masculinity in a poetic and humorous way.

In the autumn of 2026, three professional gatherings will take place as part of a cultural cooperation strategy between France, Spain and Portugal, co-curated by Materiais Diversos and the Institut français du Portugal.

23–25 October — Minde, during our materiais adversos weekend
In its first edition, materiais adversos weekend emerges from the desire to sustain an ongoing artistic presence in the region between editions of the biennial materiais diversos festival. It brings together ten artists based in Portugal for a ten-day research residency culminating in open sharings and encounters with local communities and international professionals. Within this framework, the second gathering proposes a rethinking of models of production and circulation through the principles of mieux produire and mieux diffuser, placing the sustainability of artistic creation at the centre of the discussion through the FUTURΛ seminar. For this occasion, Materiais Diversos is also supported by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation in welcoming international programmers.
