The new research explores sound-making processes as models of dynamic relationships between body, circulation, reverberation, and transmission. Taking the Leslie speaker and Hammond organ as choreographic metaphors, this residency initiates a travelling investigation into the relationships between different musical practices and associated forms of physicality.

Luísa Saraiva is a choreographer, born in Porto, who lives between Porto and Berlin. Her choreographic work explores the language of the body and voice, situated at the intersection of movement and musical composition. She has developed extensive research into Portuguese oral heritage, taking a critical perspective on the relationship between tradition, gender, and power. In recent years, she has led workshops and participated in discussions on mental health in dance. She is co-director of the MULA festival with Cristina Planas Leitão.

I-HÓN emerges as a solo piece built at the intersection of the comic and the tragic, the intimate and the political. It is a performative reflection on what persists and what transforms when the body attempts to dance between worlds, languages and memories.

Natacha Campos, the daughter of Angolan parents, born in the late 1990s, has explored the languages of dance, theatre and performance. Her research focuses on the tension between the visible and the invisible, the intimate and the public, in an attempt to find common ground within what may appear to be opposing forces.

Born in Lisbon to Portuguese and Angolan parents, Piny trained in Architecture and Contemporary Dance in Lisbon. She study North African dances and their contemporary fusions, and since 2006 have also been involved in Hip Hop, clubbing and Ballroom culture. Her practice spans performance and creation. Piny founded the OU.kupa festival.

Standing Ancestors delves into radical imagination and speculation, exploring the tensions of unresolved postcolonial realities. Dance and music become practices of ecstasy, resistance, celebration and survival, carrying memory as both a burden and a dream. Ceremonial practices collide with cyphers and packed dancefloors.

Filipe Pereira is a choreographer, performer and floral designer. His work explores the hierarchies of different elements within the performing arts, applying choreographic thinking to the various components of a performance, such as lighting and scenography.

This first artistic residency seeks to initiate a dialogue between floral composition and contemporary contexts of social encounter and interaction, such as digital apps. An exploratory gesture that investigates the relationship between flowers, desire and human connection.
